Egypt, with a vast population of over 110 million inhabitants, is Africa's largest home textiles consumer market.

The growth of Egypt’s home textiles exports is estimated at 12% (CAGR) for the coming 5 new years’, with upholstery, linens, curtains, and carpets representing the most promising sub-sectors.

The number of new residential and mixed-use real estate projects in Egypt currently stands at 534 with a value of $329.57 billion, thus creating an enormous demand for home textiles with an annual growth rate approaching 25%

Egypt’s textile market aims to achieve a significant leap in production capacity with a target production of 188 thousand tons of yarn yearly compared to the current figure of 37 thousand tons and 198 million meters of fabric instead of 50 million meters for the time being.

Egypt plans to build 15 new fourth-generation cities in the coming years to house the country’s growing population and provide residents with high-quality amenities, including using the highest standards of home textile products to furnish those cities.

The furniture market's expected revenue is US$1.95 billion, including US$0.68 billion from the Living Room furniture segment.

The Egyptian government has allocated approximately $1.2 billion to boost the textile industry within Egypt, create employment opportunities, enhance local production capabilities, and increase exports of home textile products.

As part of its 2025 vision to rank the country as a regional textile hub, Egypt plans to establish a new integrated city for textile industries.  The Egyptian government also plans to establish 10 new textile industrial zones spanning over 6 million square meters. These zones will accommodate around 1,250 textile factories, creating job opportunities for approximately 1.5 million people.
